Integration Along with Strong Marketing Strategies can be The Last Hope for MySpace.

Ever since Facebook launched its social networking site, Myspace has been struggling to stay in existence. However, there is still hope for MySpace to be as a comeback organization, if only they turnaround their business strategy. One thing seems clear; there is no sense for MySpace to compete with rivals such as Facebook.

Facebook has dominated itself as a leader in social media, and chances are that it will continue to maintain its role as a leader. Does this mean MySpace should simply give up? Not necessarily. One proposition could be instead of competing with dominant players like Facebook, they can choose to join forces and work together towards similar goals. Integration is the key and seems like MySpace has realized that already. According to this article, MySpace has already undertaken the efforts to integrate with Facebook. Users now can associate their MySpace accounts with their Facebook accounts and then log in to MySpace via Connect. However, Facebook is not the only social media platform that MySpace can integrate with. Sites such as Twitter, YouTube, and number of other social networking sites can be a solution to MySpace lack of presents in virtual world. If MySpace can build itself as connector to all other connection sites, while remaining to be a social entertaining site, users of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media platforms might take a second look at MySpace and the benefits it offers.

Speaking from a personal point of view, I wouldn’t mind to log into one website where I can find my Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Blogger account while browsing through YouTube videos. Nowadays, with social media being the center of attention more and more people, especially college students and young professionals, are joining different social networking sites to make sure of their presence in the virtual world. I am sure these people would find it valuable to have one place where they could have access to all of their accounts. The site “myspace” could be that “place”.

In addition, to integration with other social medial platforms, I also believe that MySpace needs to create some buzz around them to let people know that they are still alive and have a lot to offer. One way to do this is by creating stronger marketing strategies. After all, it all lies in the hands of marketing, that’s how Facebook was able to gain its popularity so fast. From the very beginning Mark Zuckerberg has always created a buzz around Facebook, and even till this day, Facebook is a hot topic that is always in the news.
